There is nothing sexy about doing laundry...

contrary to what this 1998 Super Bowl ad for Doritos, featuring former Miss USA Ali Landry, might have you believe.

I am at the point where I have lost count of how many loads of laundry I have done this week. (Got one in the dryer right now!) And trust me, I don't feel the least bit sexy. Though maybe it's because I'm not using the LG WM3431 Front Load All-in-One Washer/Dryer or popping Doritos 3Ds.

UPDATED: As I have now been reminded, laundry can be sexy (ditto ironing, vacuuming, and doing the dishes), when done by someone else. Exhibit A...

Munch on a few Doritos, J. It will change everything. Trust me.

Say what you want about sexy, but when my now-wife found out I would do all the laundry, that sealed the deal... and my fate.

@Edward: CORRECTION: There is nothing sexy about ME doing the laundry. A guy who does laundry? Now that's sexy.

@Dan: Yes, it will make everything I touch turn bright orange, leading to... more laundry. ; P

Have to disagree. When I took my clothes out of the dyrer my Au Pair's underwear was included; long string with a 1" by 1" piece of satin cloth.

We actually had one of those LG combo units in our condo, and it worked great except that as a smaller model we were constantly doing laundry. Now that we have a separate full-size washer and dryer we find that we... are constantly doing laundry.

I am the more or less designated laundry folder in the house, although my folding skills (and most other home-ec-related program activities) pale in comparison to those of my mother, who started out as a professional home economist in the Hawaii Territory.

Hail to all the male laundry doer's! Think I'd faint if my husband even tried to turn on either appliance. The act of doing laundry is no fun, but the cost of detergent makes it even more depressing! I spent $29+ on a box of named detergent at Sam's yesterday. The box claims to service 180 loads- That size box lasts one month. How about ironing? There's gotta be a way to take away the pain of ironing.

Don't like ironing? My family has discovered a simple trick for that: Don't do it.

Clearly, J., you've never seen my sock-rolling technique...

I'm a weirdo. Love doing laundry & ironing. Maybe b/c I only have to take care of me and that I will "live" out of the dryer for a few days if I'm feeling lazy.

Mmmm...fluffy, warm PJs out of the dryer. Perfect on a chilly fall night.
