Suddenly everyone's a Jets fan

Okay, maybe not everyone is a New York Jets (of New Jersey) fan, but this football season it seems that the greater New York City metro area (New York-New Jersey-Connecticut) has gone from feeling (Big) Blue to seeing (Gang) Green.

Some may attribute the increase in the number of Jets fans (particularly female fans) to this guy, Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez, who, btw, has yet to throw an interception this season (a record -- though now watch, this Sunday he'll get picked off three times by the Denver Broncos):

Or maybe I should say Jets super sexy GQ QB Mark Sanchez:

But I think the real cause of all the Jets excitement is this guy, Jets coach Rex Ryan:

Sure, Rex Ryan may not have the sculpted abs of Mark Sanchez (I'm not even sure Ryan has abs), but he is far more entertaining -- and has breathed life (and a lot of unprintable words) into what was considered until recently an also-ran NFL franchise.

There is also the fact that the Jets are Number One in the AFC East (at least this week), with a 4-1 record (though I may have just jinxed them) -- and everyone loves a winner.

Whatever the reason, I believe the Jets bandwagon is big enough for everyone to climb aboard -- even you, Tom Brady.

GO JETS!!!

When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way
From your first cigarette to your last dyin' day!
When you're a Jet, let 'em do what they can
You've got brothers around, you're a family man!
You're never alone, you're never disconnected, you're home with your own
When company's expected, you're well-protected!
Then you are set with a capital J
Which you'll never forget till they cart you away
When you're a Jet you stay a Jet

With the increasing lack of actual football being played in New York State, I can understand why folks might be sneaking across the border.

Verification word "bersms" which is what fans of the "fastest three minutes in football" experience Monday nights, despite it being over so damn fast.

Well J.
You almost jinxed Sanchez into three interceptions - but he had only two in the Jets' big 24-20 win over the Broncos...

Did you notice there were three 23-20 scores on Sunday?
1) Seattle over Chicago
2) New England beating Baltimore in overtime
3) Miami over Green Bay in overtime

Did you notice three NFL teams scored 17 points on the 17th?
1) San Francisco beat Oakland 17-9. Quarterback Alex Smith almost completed 17 passes. He was 16/33.

2) San Diego scored 17 BUT St. Louis finished with 20. Quarterback Sam Bradford almost completed 17 passes. He was 18/31 for the Rams.

3) Finally, Philadelphia 31, Atlanta 17. Both Kevin Kolb and Matt Ryan completed 23 passes.

Sorry I didn't say Sanchez's name more than twice in my comment...

Cheers!

@HasTheVoice: Aren't you are a font of football facts, Ralph! :-) I was not aware of all of those coincidences, though I spent Sunday glued to the TV (figuratively speaking) watching the Giants and Jets and what was going on in the other games. Thanks for enlightening all of us -- and for stopping by again.

@Larissa: Giants and Jets #1?! Definitely Fantasy Football.

@David T: Yup.

@Dave S.: It's hard being a Bills fan, isn't it?
