I personally am hoping to see Henrik Stenson in a green jacket...

and nothing else at Augusta on Sunday, though I suppose I would also be OK if Tiger Woods, who gifted Stenson with a pair of autographed white Nike compression shorts at a recent tournament, wins (and/or disrobed).

For the record, Stenson finished the first round of the Masters fully clothed at one under par (71), six strokes behind current leader Chad Campbell (-7) and one behind Tiger (-2). However there is a 50 percent chance of precipitation today at Augusta, so things could get pretty muddy pretty fast. And you know what that could mean...

In any case, I am looking forward to some fore play this weekend -- and will be following the live coverage (or uncoverage) of the Masters, which begins at 4 p.m. today on ESPN.

Did you hear about Vijay Singh skipping the ball across the water hazard on 16 and making a hole in one?

I know that sounds like the setup to an Aristocrats-style punchline. Too bad it was in a practice round.

I did not, but I just found the clip of the shot on YouTube, not great quality, but WOW. Thanks for letting me know, Dave S.. (But why is Vijay wearing so much clothing? ; )

I mean, boxer briefs are the s--t, but tighty-boxer-whiteys (also refered to at Boom Boom Mancinis)??? Come on Stenson...go with some color. We know you're a visor wearer -- that's bad enough

Also, "compression shorts" sound distinctly uncomfortable and would seem to affect one's, um, swing.

J, I think what you want is strip golf. Two words against: Craig Stadler.

I'm more worried about Phil Mickelson and his man boobs, Dave. Professional golfers must be the most unphysically fit "athletes" out there, except for, maybe, bowlers. Even NASCAR drivers, who practically live on fried food, look better, and would probably be much happier racing in their skivvies.

And Tommy, I'm with you on the choice of undergarment. No corporate logo? What was Stenson thinking?!

He's a swede and having been to sweden I'm quite sure his natural inclination would have been to hit that shot in his birthday suit; the briefs were probably a concession to that particular event occurring on puritanical US soil. Now had that event been in Europe (puritanical UK excluded) the discussion would have been about deeper matters that type of underwear.

I definitely need to watch more European golf, Powa -- better yet, in Europe.
