Lady Gaga rocks Rockefeller Center and The Today Show

In cased you missed Lady Gaga on The Today Show this morning...

First up, Lady Gaga doing a mashup of "Someone to Watch Over Me" (just beautiful -- even the spouse thought so) and "Bad Romance." (Say what you will about Lady Gaga, she puts on a great show -- and can sing.)

A bit later she performed her new single "You and I," which showcased Lady Gaga's rock 'n' roll side (and had a bit of a Melissa Etheridge feel):

FYI, Lady Gaga's appearance on The Today Show this morning garnered the largest audience EVER for its Friday Toyota Concert Series, with an estimated 20,000 fans jamming the Plaza at Rockefeller Center. Though as my daughter pointed out, those of us watching from home on our TVs had a much better view.

Wishing all you Little Monsters a good weekend...

Apparently I missed Lady Gaga performing "Alejandro" live....

Two more reasons to watch Glee

As if Gleeks needed another reason to watch Glee (you know, other than the great music, the amazing chemistry between the cast members, and the hysterical quotes that come out of ditzy blonde Cheerio Brittany's mouth each week). But I'll give you two more:

1. Tonight's episode, titled "Theatricality," features songs by Lady Gaga.

2. Matthew Morrison's (aka "Will Schuester's" or "Mr. Schue's") abs.*

(More pictures from Matthew Morrison's June VOGUE photo shoot here.)

To quote Van Halen, I am "Hot for Teacher" (which should seriously be featured on an upcoming Glee episode).

*A special thanks to my friend, A., who ripped out that picture of Matthew Morrison from VOGUE and left it for me in my mail box. :-)

No foolin': Lady Gaga calls Sesame Street and the Literal Version of David Bowie's China Girl

In honor of April Fool's Day, I present two of the most foolish (but fun) videos hot off the Internet!

First up, Lady Gaga's "Telephone," featuring the cast of Sesame Street...

(Who knew Grover had the moves?)

and the Literal Version of David Bowie's "China Girl"...

Oh oh oh o-oh...

Lady Gaga explained

After watching Lady Gaga's latest video, "Telephone," featuring Beyonce (or most of it), it finally occurred to me how to explain Lady Gaga. Imagine if Madonna and Sir Elton John had a love child. That love child would be Lady Gaga (nee Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta).

Seriously, watch Madonna's video "Hung Up" then watch Lady Gaga's "Telephone" (which now contains a warning and requires you to confirm you are over 18 on YouTube).

See a resemblance?

Now watch Lady Gaga performing with Elton John at the Grammy's -- and tell me she is not his (and Madonna's) musical love child.

Need more proof? Check out Elton John's "I'm Still Standing" music video:

Elton John - I'm Still Standing

I rest my case.

Btw, if you want to see some PG-13-rated Lady Gaga videos, click here. And no, we have no plans to go see Lady Gaga after seeing "Telephone." Definitely not appropriate for an 11-year-old (or her prudish mother).

Going Gaga (UPDATED: Lady Gaga CANCELS concerts)

This Sunday I'm taking J-THREE-O to see Lady Gaga (nee Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) in concert, and I've been really wrestling with my decision... as to what to wear. Leather or lace? Metal or rhinestones? Plastic or spandex? Bikini or one piece? After all, I don't want to stand out too much.

Suggestions?

Btw, these are my two favorite Lady Gaga songs:

My one regret (other than possibly scarring my tween daughter for life)? While I am excited to see/hear Lady Gaga in person (I've heard she puts on quite a show), I am majorly bummed that I will miss the final quarter of Sunday's Jets vs. Chargers game, though I made the spouse SWEAR he would text me the final score. Go Jets!

UPDATED 1/15/10 at 5 p.m.: Lady Gaga just canceled her three upcoming concerts, including the one I was taking the kid to. Of the three she canceled, only the one we were to attend is not being rescheduled. SUCKS. :-(
